This month we sent our in-house GIS Officer to the annual Esri User Conference in Melbourne. As we use Esri’s GIS products we believe it’s important to stay up to date with the latest trends in their technology, as well as to network with others in the field.
Artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, online/open source data and 3D modelling are among the many things that are quickly evolving and becoming more relevant in today’s GIS workflows. The theme of Ozri 2019 was that GIS creates the ability to “see what others can’t”. Being able to visually show the relationships between datasets helps us make better informed decisions and give clearer advice to clients.
It was a great learning experience and networking opportunity to expand our horizons in the world of GIS.
