World Environment Day is the United Nations day for encouraging worldwide awareness and action to protect our environment. It began in 1974 and has grown to become a global platform for public outreach that is widely celebrated. Every year has a different theme, this year’s theme is air pollution. Did you know 9 out of 10 people breathe in polluted air? Did you know seven million people die prematurely each year from air pollution? The major sources of air pollution are agriculture, transport, power generation, landfills (burning of trash) and household (indoor burning of fuels).

Let’s all think about and action how we can take care of our environment together!
